"Oh the Places I will go"

New Smyrna Intracoastal: 

March, 2014

My husband took me on a daytime date to New Smyrna Intracoastal, while scoping out some good fishing/kayaking spots. I didn't realize how beautiful the Intracoastal can be. 

We discovered that you can put in at the ramp offered, and kayak around the mangroves to reach a really cool summer hangout, Disappearing Island. (pictures to come later this summer)

Daytona International Speedway:

January, 2014

The Daytona International Speedway holds a Rolex 24 sports car racing event every January to kick of the racing season. This particular event was special due to the fact that this was the first race for TUDOR United Sports car Championship, the merger of the Grand-am Rolex Sports car Series and the Le Mans Series.

We won 3 day event tickets, and bought a tent camping pass.

We were able to go behind the scenes and start the race on Pit Road. After which, we were able to visit Pit stalls and witness Pit stops from behind the wall. We also went to the Control center and we were able to go to the roof for the most beautiful view, you could see the ocean from there.

Daytona Beach Pier:

December, 2013

Daytona Beach Pier is the biggest touristy area in Daytona. This is very popular for Spring Breakers and Summer Vacationers, but during the winter when it is less busy, locals love this area. 

The Pier is all lit up at night with the Ferris Wheel, Band Stage, and Go-Carts. They also have arcades, night life Bars, and restaurants. We went to Joe's crab Shack on the Pier. The restaurant has a fun atmosphere, with a roof top bar that is accommodated with an outdoor fire pit.

Florida State University:

October,2013

My in-laws love Florida State University, this is way their whole family graduated from the school. They return at least once a year to attend a football game. 

This particular game we attended was very special, for Bobby Bowden(former coach) had returned to throw the spear. FSU won this game and continued the winning spree for the rest of the season, to take the Championship Title.

Biketoberfest:

October, 2013

October is one of the busiest times on Main Street of Daytona Beach, they have Biketoberfest, where bikers come from all over and grab a beer while jamming to some great music. 

We like to walk up and down Main Street stopping at some awesome outside bars, listening to the local bands and looking at the amazing motorcycles parked all over.

Birthday Dinner:

We always go out to dinner for my birthday. My favorite restaurant is the Elephant Bar. They not only have a fun atmosphere but also amazing food.
