Sharpie Tie Dye

We used white t-shirts, sharpies, alcohol, eye dropper, plastic cups, and rubber bands to create an awesome alternative to tie dying. Also, we used white elastic bands to secure cups to the shirt to create the matching hair ties for the girls.

We laid the shirt on newspaper and started placing plastic cups inside the t-shirt, wrapped rubber bands/ elastic bands around the cups to secure them to the shirt. Then we started decorating the shirt with different colored sharpies. We repeated this method until we reached the desire look. The last step was to use the eye dropper to drip alcohol into the middle of each cup and watched the sharpie design spread to the edge of the cup and stop at the bands. Once shirt was dry we ironed the shirt to set the dye.

Then we enjoyed our designs!
